In this season's Rosebowl Cup there were some changes in the rules:

  • Players will toss a coin to decide who serves and for the choice of ends
  • Players will not change ends during the middle of a deciding game
  • Teams will comprise of 3 players each, playing 9 Singles matches (No Doubles)
  • Matches will be best of 9 Games
  • Games will be best of 5 sets
  • Sets will be played from 0 up to 21
  • First player to reach 21 points wins the set, even if they are only 1 point ahead i.e. they can win 21-20
  • Each player shall serve 2 points and then serve changes; this continues up to 20 each and thereafter it is 1 serve each

Please vote in the poll above to tell us what did you make of this year's new handicap rules. In my team's match against Canvey C we started some games at 16-9 or 16-10 down and they had to score only 5 points to win the game. The games were very short as we had to play for 5-6 points each game. But, in the other hand let's say if games were to be played until the player who scores certain amount points win the game make the game to go all night to finish.

So, tell us what changes would you like to see in next year's Rosebowl Cup handicap system.
